His name alone makes you want to meet this multi-media force. A young actor, musician, and model, Chioke Dmachi, is a featured member in the upcoming film Cuttin Da Mustard alongside Sinbad, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Wesley Jonathan. The comedy premieres closing night of the 15th Annual Pan African Film & Arts Festival, February 18, 2007 and chronicles the lives of young aspiring actors pursuing their dreams while creating a community theater company. In the independent feature I Promise, Chioke carries the lead role, portraying an abused run away foster kid in the gripping and provocative family drama. And on the small screen Chioke has appeared in episodes of our favorite shows including Drake and Josh, CSI: Miami, and House.
Born in Hollywood, this quick-study graduate of Redlands High School performed with the advanced theater production ensemble Masqures and took top awards for his achievements in the arts. Following his passion he began the study of acting at 13 and currently studies at Susan Baston's Black Nexxus. Chioke is an accomplished model having appeared in televised or print ads for Pepsi, Secret Deodorant, Hyundai, Unionbay, and Wrigley's to name a few. His persistently playful approach to life is only part of his trademark charm for his talents are far reaching. He writes screenplays, short stories, poems and songs, recently signing a contract with Bliss Tunes Recording and releasing two singles, "Alright," which is featured in both Cuttin Da Mustard and Brothers in Arms, and "Shake it For Me."
In 2003 Chioke Dmachi was recognized for his dedication to philanthropy when named co-spokesperson with Haylie Duff for the non-profit organization "Kids with a Cause." The organization's mission is to alleviate adversity among children experiencing poverty, homelessness, illness, etc. His tenure with "Kids with a Cause" spans a half a decade, attesting to his deep seated values of giving back to society. When not engaged in his many pursuits or lifting spirits with "Kids with a Cause," Chioke enjoys horse back riding, Tennis, and traveling.
