Justin Carty Plus
Born and raised in NYC, I work as a painter, designer and animator. My current work is focused on capturing and conveying a mood and emotion within the tactile forms and textures of NYC. Foe example, by painting NYC subway commuters, I find a meditative quality in their faces. This quality seems to connect them to one another. Although most of my work is done in oil, I have also been creating multi media works on paper which explore the more abstract qualities of my subjects. Having been born and raised in NYC, I am constantly inspired by the ever changing layers and textures of this urban landscape, as well as the myriad of cultures and people who inhabit it.
