Joshua Gen Solondz is an artist working in film, data, and sound.
He’s shown work at MOMA’s Documentary Fortnight, Images Festival, Light Industry, UnionDocs, video_dumbo, Harvard Film Archive, and Parsons Hall Project Space. Josh has screened work in numerous festivals including Onion City, Chicago Underground, Ann Arbor Film Festival, CAAMFest, Toronto Film Festival’s Wavelengths, and Lima Independent Film Festival. He has received awards including a Jury’s Choice Selection from the Black Maria Film Festival in 2012, the Chris Frayne Award for Best Animation at the 2013 Ann Arbor Film Festival, and a Special Jury Mention from the New Orleans Film Festival in 2013. Recently Josh shared a joint show with Peter Watkins at Heliopolis Gallery entitled ZERO LAND where he screened a newly commissioned work.
Josh attended Bard College and is currently an MFA candidate at CalArts.
