Phillips is a High School Transformation and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) school that provides a positive learning environment through a rigorous academic curriculum promoting literacy, and inquiry-based learning. The school also features a Junior Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (JAFROTC) program and a state-of-the-art health clinic to serve the needs of its students.
Phillips is a Academy of Urban School Leadership School and a CPS Community School . Honors courses are offered in 15 subjects. Phillips also features high quality student development and Service Learning programs, and is a CPS Student Development demonstration school.
