Nick Hubbard makes art at the intersection of shadow theater, puppetry, music, poetry, and actor’s theater. Major productions include Moon Show 143 created by Kyle Loven and Paurl Walsh (Director, 2013), Piccolo Asmodeo with Teatro Gico Vita in Italy, directed by shadow theater pioneer Fabrizio Montecchi (Production Assistant, 2012); artist Kyle Loven’s When You Point at the Moon, with choreography by Gabrielle Schutz, for the On the Boards Northwest New Works Festival (Director, 2011); an ensemble generated adaptation of Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis at Ghost Light Theatricals (Designer & Puppetry Director, 2010-2011); musician Cristina Orbe’s The Twisted Tale of Two, part of the Central District Forum’s CREATION PROJECT (Designer, Puppeteer, Puppetry Director, 2010); and storytelling with writer Wes Andrews under the title Dr. Andy Hubble's Crucible of Authenticity (Designer, Puppeteer, 2008-2009). This work has been featured at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and locally at On The Boards, Balagan Theatre, The Lee Center for the Arts, Annex Theatre, West of Lenin, and The Frye Art Museum.
