I'm a freelance animator and Associate Tutor in Animation at Goldsmiths, University of London; I also lecture in Media and Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths on occasion, and facilitate animation and other creative workshops for a variety of participants all over the south east.

I come from a fine art background, so tend to favour hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animations using a rostrum setup; however, I find hand-drawing into Flash a pretty successful way of translating the energy and dynamism of the hand drawn line into a digital format, and has the advantage of (sometimes) not being quite so laborious to animate...

I do a lot of short films for the youth debating site, True Tube (www.truetube.co.uk) which recently won the Secondary Digital Content category at the 2009 BETT awards, and am particularly interested in projects with a social edge, for which my more academic and theoretical interests often come in handy.

Love the work of William Kentridge, Jonathan Hodgson and Ruth Lingford, among others.
