I don't know if i can really explain it to you. To me it seems like in Japan terror is a huge aspect and it's used in a very interesting way ( in literature, in cinema , probably in theatre too but i don't know) much different from the west. And that's something i find very attractive in murakami's books and i think i can see it in your film as well. The shot with the man's head turning around at 01.58 for some reason reminded me of murakami's hero in bird chronicles. But if you like please tell me some more about this tradition of the terror aspect in japanese storytelling.
