Jonathan Shepard is an independent Producer and Director for film and Television. He is also Founder and Director of Production for Fat Screaming Baby where he and the FSB team are develop feature film properties for worldwide release, produce commercials and music videos. Over 2008-10 Shepard resided as the in house Director and Producer for the Doorpost Film Project, an online short film festival/contest voted among Filmmaker Magazine's "25 Festivals worth the entry fee" in 2009. Two years earlier he relocated from freelance production in New York to work for Paladin Media Group in Charlottesville, Virginia where he honed his Directing and technical skills. Prior to Paladin, he had spent two years in Production Management for MTV Networks on several series and development projects such as Juvies, The Next White Rapper, High School Stories and a Rosie O’Donell produced sketch comedy show for Logo Network.
Over the last decade, his work has ranged from Location Management for feature films and episodic television, to Field & Segment Producing and Production Managing for regional and national television series, feature & documentary films and specials. His work also includes Producing and Directing a wide variety of live events. Mr. Shepard’s productions have encompassed virtually all formats of film and video, from single to multiple camera shoots, including live television and live to web cast.
Shepard has had the privilege of working side by side with some of the best producers and directors in the business, including Philip Noyce, Mike Nichols, Ron Schwary, Bob Balaban, Julie Taymor, Spike Lee, Hal Hartley, G. Mac Brown, Glen Gordon Caron and James Toback. Projects include work for HBO, FOX/Paramount, CBS, MTV, Vh1, Nickelodeon, Showtime and Comedy Central, Merchant Ivory, Biegel Maylor, The Shooting Gallery, Robot Films as well as variety of independent production houses.
