Guanaco was founded in 2008 by four emerging filmakers (Rinio Dragassaki, Sofia Exarchou, Panayiotis Fafoutis, Elina Psykou) as a vehicle-film collective for the production of shorts and feature films. Since then Guanaco has produced award-winning shorts that have also been sold abroad, as well as the feature debut of Ektoras Lygizos The Boy Eating the Bird’s Food and the now completing feature by Elina Psykou The Eternal Return of Antonis Paraskevas. The company operates as creative director/producer for select advertising campaigns, most notably the 2011 and 2012 advertising campaigns for the National Opera House. Guanaco is based in downtown Athens.
