Forgot to respond to a couple of points, some of which are addressed in the full documentary, some not -

The riot police in the shots we used were being fairly calm, and I don't think I've heard of them using fire hoses or tasers; but tear gas, rubber bullets and pepper spray are very familiar weapons in Christiania and throughout Copenhagen. I think this is a fairly recent development, though. The Ungdomshusset riots of a couple of years ago really cranked the game up (these were riots sparked when a long-standing youth squat of some 25 years was torn down when the conservative church that owned the property renegged on a long standing agreement with the city and evicted the squat)

The woman talking about her daughters trying hashish at age 14 also talks earlier in our documentary about being a pusher herself at one time. This was in the days of Christiania when the community still had control of Pusher Street and it was a fairly peaceful place. She describes how people would sell hash for a short time to fund a vacation, or a renovation on their homes. At the time of this interview, she still had strong ties among the pushers (this has since changed) and describes how she felt safe with her daughters hanging around Pusher Street, and even smoking hash, because she knew that if they did something they shouldn't, or were using drugs other than hash, the pushers would call her and let her know what was up - they would also call her and let her know when they had sold hash to her daughters. This part of the interview, however, is not in the full documentary (DVD bonus footage, someday)

Also to be included in future bonus footage is Nis (the pluckish man you mentioned) reaching his breaking point during my interview with him and suddenly bursting out with, "fuck my ass, I'm tired of talking about hash...I mean, here we are doing this interview and we're spending all of this time talking about hash."
