Katrina Boemig was born during a blizzard in Brattleboro, Vermont. She has exhibited and
created social projects in Beijing, Weimar, Toronto, London, and The U.S.
She received a B.F.A from Pratt Institute and an MFA at The University at Buffalo, SUNY.
As a young teen Katrina was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. This has driven her to create a practice that places the importance of the everyday back into the lives of people confronted by their own mortality, isolation and insular modern lifestyle. She works in social engagement and reflection; she exhibits various media, performance, installation and hand-cut mappings.
