to discuss and exchange thoughts and ideas on design.
Two days of lectures and workshops held by the guest designers and addressed to students
from design schools in Torino to discuss about the main theme of the event, 'Nature through Artifice' and about the role of design as expressive resource able to interpret the everyday life requirements.
The first edition of the in residence event, has as guests a generation of designers that share a strong interest towards experimentation:
Pieke Bergmans, brh+, C12, Glyph, Julia Lohmann, Tomas Gabzdil Libertiny,
Liliana Ovalle e Raw-Edges Design Studio.
As mentioned above, the event is part of the official calendar of Torino 2008 World Design Capital
in agreement with the magazine Interni that is involved in the program layout and will be responsible for the event communication through the publication of a dedicated reportage.
Torino is the first World Design Capital for the whole year 2008.
The designation follows the initiative of Icsid
(International Council of Societies of Industrial Design) and was created as a perfect platform
for a city to be recognised for it use of design as a key strategy for urban, social and economic renewal.
Torino understood that the word design is relevant in order to start a coordinated process through which begin necessary and useful transformations, aimed at renovating the city with a contemporary planning.
