Gabrielle Revlock, dancer/choreographer, is “a gifted comedian." (Philadelphia Inquirer, 2010). She has received support from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the nEW Festival, New Edge Mix, SCUBA National Touring Network for Dance and the Susan Hess Choreographers Project. Her work has been shown across the US by presenters including ODC (SF), The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, ThirdBird at Abrons Arts Center, Joyce SoHo, Dance Place (DC), Philadelphia Dance Projects, Velocity Dance Center (Seattle) and the Korzo Theater (The Hague, Netherlands). In 2010 she received a Rocky Award [Philadelphia Dance Award] for her piece Indivisibility, and in 2011 a finalist prize from the A.W.A.R.D. Show! for I made this for you, her collaboration with Nicole Bindler. Currently she is a 2012-13 LAB Fellow with the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival. As a dancer, she was a company member of Jeanne Ruddy Dance for nine years, performing the works of Suzanne Linke, Mark Dendy, Jane Comfort, and Robert Battle. In 2013 she will be dancing for Christopher Williams and Susan Rethorst. Interested in performance as a social art form, she is also the creator of Wear Your Wig to Work Day, a holiday occurring annually the last Friday in January.
