I am a found sound/live looping/multi-instrumentalist who has also been a professional drummer/multi-percussionist and producer in the Santa Cruz area since 1971.

I founded the Y2k Live Looping series which holds it's annual festival in the third weekend of October every year. We've had over 200 live loopers perform from 15 countries over the past 8 years of it's existence.

Please contact me after July, 2009 if you are interested in performing at this wonderful festival/convention.

Recently, in the past couple of years, I have become interested in lo fi toy video camera and toy web camera short films that I'm using to animate my own abstract and experimental electronica tracks. While not live looping, per se, I am beginning to incorporate these films into my live looping performances.

I live in Santa Cruz with my beloved wife, Chris, who is a talented singer/songrwriter/multi-instrumentalist.

Beautiful Luis. So heartfelt and passionate. Wonderful technique and also beautiful primal playing as well.

I enjoyed the visuals too. I was wondering how you created the "ORB" effect at the end of the piece........particularly the portion when it looked like the orb was filled with television static. I'd love to play with that technique. What program did you use to create the animations?

Need I only say that I wish that I could lay down some serious assed drum/found sound percussion shit over these tracks! We seriously need to collaborate the next time I come to perform in Northern Ireland!

when the distorted groove comes in, what video mixing software are you using to make the video glitch appropriately? It's a really cool effect...........one I want to steal, shamelessly?

Also, I have to say that I love that you took the ambient track out to a more challenging sonic space.
Very, very nice. You guys should be remixing goth/industrial shit!!!!!!!

So beautiful, Ricky. Nice work! I love how you are working in the Mobius/EDP paradigm stuff into the mix.

This is very, very beautiful. The soundtrack and the visuals match perfectly and produce such a lonely and unsettling, yet beautiful feeling in me viewing and watching. I love the very, very slow dissolves. This is what I imagine granular synthesis would look like if it had a visual expression.
