To accommodate the individuality of our students, VLS offers a variety of degrees. We offer a 4 year extended juris doctor degree and a two year accelerated JD, a masters of environmental law and policy degree, three specialized master of laws: an LLM in environmental law, an LLM in energy Law, and an LLM in American Legal Studies, and more than 10 joint and dual degrees on campus and through our strong connections with other top-tier schools, domestic and international.

Ranked #1 in environmental law in the 2013 edition of U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Graduate Schools. Vermont Law School has placed first in environmental law 15 times since the magazine began ranking the specialty in 1991 and has never placed lower than second.

The Environmental Law Center offers the most comprehensive environmental law and policy curriculum in the nation, and confers both the Master of Environmental Law and Policy (MELP) and Master of Laws in Environmental Law (LLM) degrees.
