Weekend Challenge: Seasons Past

Hello beauties,

It's the end of the hottest season here in the Northern Hemisphere and there's no better way to commemorate the sweet sun vibes than with videos of adventures. This challenge is a simple yet creativity-heavy one. Let your style ideas and editing techniques reign free here, because we really just want to see what you've been up to in the last few months!

Check out these Summer Feelings from filmmaker Sebastien Montaz-Rosset for a little film-spiration.

The rules here are easy: you just need to use footage that you've shot this summer (or whatever season you're in!), and compile it in any way you'd like. A cool, quick montage, maybe a slow-moving, mystical clip collection, or even a timelapse -- the options are endless!

We do absolutely encourage everyone to participate, not only those who just had a summer! Your video can be rainy, it can be snowy, it can be piping hot-- just show us what this past season has been like for you and those around you. We love all hemispheres around here!

Here are a couple more examples from a similar challenge last year. Matt Brass definitely got the idea with his winning video, American Summer.

And Calvin Keyes shook things up with his awesome pinwheel style in his runner-up video, Summer So Far.

Okay, are you ready? Please say yes!

+ Create a video showing us your latest season wherever you are.
+ Only use footage that you shot over the last respective season (the last few months) and this weekend.
+ Keep it one minute or less. Short and sweet, folks!
+ If you add music, make sure you use a song you or a buddy created, or something from the Vimeo Music Store! If you do choose to use a Music Store song, please throw a link in the description.
+ Add this to your video's description: "Created for the Weekend Challenge: vimeo.com/groups/weekendchallenge"
+ Upload and post your video to the Weekend Challenge Group by ***September 17, 2013*** at 11:59 PM (EST).

Only videos made specifically for this Challenge will be considered.

+ The winner will receive a free Vimeo Plus account for one year, and one of our stunning new trophies! If you're already a Plus member, you'll get another year!
+ The runner-up will receive an extra 3GB of upload space.

All videos must be approved by the Vimeo Staff before appearing in the Group, so don't worry if your video doesn't show up at first; we'll get to it!

Ready for a challenge?

Vimeans, can you create a beautiful, retrospective collection of your latest season? Make a one-minute video showing us what the past few months have been like for you!

Accept this challenge

***UPDATE***

Man oh MAN, these entries were excellent. Seriously, you guys, I absolutely loved the creative ways you all chose to show your season.

The winner of this week's challenge is Matthew M with his crisp, music-less beauty, Summertime.

And, because I'm extremely indecisive, we have two runners up this week:
Pizzaluga's super creative take, A Summer in Front of the Wardrobe, as well as andrew jay's adventure-ridden piece, When I was Gone.

Honorable mention goes to Trip and Summer in 60 Seconds.
