Weekend Challenge: What I Like About You

Hey there, my flawless friends,

We're on a roll with reinvigorating old projects, so I'd like to keep it up with a new take on another classic: What I Like About You!

Community members used to make videos about what they liked about other members (adorable, I know). Today, at Vimeo, we're celebrating our Director of Vimeo Video School, and my personal mentor and pal, Dan Hayek.

The list of stuff I like about Dan is incredibly long, and the things he's contributed to this site and community are too numerous to count! I bet there are people in your life that are pretty great, so this weekend, take a moment to make a video about them. If they happen to be geographically close to you, you could try shooting an interview. Maybe you have enough photos to make a photo essay, or you've got a story you've been waiting to tell.

Take the time to celebrate some people who deserve to be celebrated. Let's share the Loveo!

+ Make a video about the things you like about someone!
+ Keep your video under 3 minutes.
+ If you add music, make sure you use a song you or a buddy created, or something from the Vimeo Music Store! If you do choose to use a Music Store song, please throw a link in the description.
+ Add this at the end of your video's description: "Created for the Weekend Challenge: vimeo.com/groups/weekendchallenge"
+ Upload and post your video to the Weekend Challenge Group by ***Tuesday, February 4th, 2014*** at 11:59 PM (EST).

Only videos made specifically for this Challenge will be considered.

+ The winner will receive a free Vimeo Plus account for one year! If you're already a Plus member, you'll get another year.
+ The runner-up will receive an extra 3GB of upload space!

All videos must be approved by the Vimeo Staff before appearing in the Group, so don't worry if your video doesn't show up at first; we'll get to it!

Aw man, this is such a sweet challenge. The person I'd make mine about just left for the weekend. Bummertown! Can't wait to see what people do with this idea.

cool for me it has to be my husband, he share lots of the qualities that I love about God
He is a Godsend, faithful clever, a craftsman. he has non god like qualities luckily. He is a great lover and a cook beyond compare, His sense of humour is dry but he is welcoming and physical and he has supported me for nearly 40 years, He has seen me grow up, become more ethical, feel loved, given me 2 sons now grown and providing grandchildren. The best holiday he arranged was trip to Tobago, with sun and sea and entertainment for the boys, and tropical rainforest in a breezy wonderful island. He was dreamy when I was 16 and he still is. you will want to see the video. Of course I still love him very dearly. I hope I can do a vid I have not tried before, watch this space.

I was wondering, can I edit out movies and make it a type of documentary for this challenge? Or do I have to shoot it myself?

And if your wife - it should be her - is a novelist? Would that be considered to be marketing?
