Vincent Haycock, 28, is a director of commercials and music videos. His work reflects a diverse background of disciplines, from musicians to athletes, he utilizes his understanding of narrative and image to create highly designed visual landscapes. Haycock draws on his passionate interest in art, design, storytelling and fashion to create carefully considered compositions notable for there iconic and memorable execution.
Haycock began studying design and film at C.C.A. in San Francisco, filling his summers at the studio of P. Scott and Laurie Makela on the campus of the renowned Cranbrook Art Academy. His first introduction into film was assisting on the main title designs of David Fincher's “Fight Club” and “The Game.” Since then, he worked with many acclaimed design studios and production companies, including Digital Kitchen, Art Center, Juxtapoz Magazine, and Vitamin before his present engagements with Streetgang Films and AVSO.
Haycock’s understanding of design, visual effects, and film lead him to a series of early directing accomplishments, most notably an Emmy nomination for the direction of Nip/Tuck’s main title sequence. Since then, he has been consistently creating new and unique visions for both commercials and music videos. Recent commercials include, among others, spots for Sony, Budweiser, Nike, and Infiniti.
Haycock’s video work has earned distinction as well, with this year’s music video for Editors "Racing Rats" nominated alongside Michel Gondry for best direction for an international video by the MVPA. Haycock is also co-owner and visual curator for Debonair Social Club in Chicago, a multi-media nightclub that features his short films.
