Daniel Bird

Daniel Bird started animating and film-making with a super8 camera at the age of 14. He left the cutting rooms of the British film industry in his early twenties for Prague, to seek the surrealist film-maker Jan Svankmajer. Throughout the next four years he worked for him in the Czech Republic as model maker, animator and in editorial.
Over the next decade in Prague he worked as editor and animator on commercial and personal film projects, as well as becoming head of post-production of a TV production company. In 2008 he spent a year working for Greenpeace International in Amsterdam, creating short films for internet release.
