This project seeks to document and create a better awareness of the contributions of Latinos and Latinas of the WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War generations. The project was created in 1999 by UT journalism professor Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez and focused solely on the WWII generation until 2010. In 2010, the project expanded into the Korean War and the Vietnam War generations of Latinos and Latinas, made possible through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Most of our interviews are of veterans, but we are also interested in documenting the larger Latino civilian experience, men and women alike. The purpose of this site is to foster a greater awareness of their contributions. We welcome your comments and suggestions.
