In 2004, Brooklyn based Writer/Director Victor Quinaz completed his first short film, CHINESE DREAM. The film has since played in 50 and counting international film festivals, was short-listed for the 2005 Academy Awards, and has won Best Short five times, including The San Francisco International Film Festival Golden Gate Award. The film was honored at Los Angeles’ Indie Producers Gala as one of the top three short films of the year. In 2007, CHINESE DREAM was accepted into the archives of Hong Kong University and is now taught as part of their curriculum. CHINESE DREAM can be seen on PBS at all hours of the morning.
Also in 2004, Victor helped in the inauguration and development of Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf’s production company Big Beach Films. They have since produced several award winning movies like LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and AWAY WE GO.
In the beginning of 2005 Victor worked as a screenwriter to adapt the hit Italian horror novel BLACKOUT for the Morabito Picture Company.
Later that year he was awarded a spot at The Nantucket Screenwriters Colony for his script THE SWEET WATER.
As a commercial Filmmaker and Producer Victor has been part of many award winning productions, documentaries, and Music Videos in and around the New York area. His clients range from Absolut Vodka and Malibu Rum to IFC/Sundance Channel and H&M.
Victor currently has several scripts in development and is set to direct the film he wrote, PURPLE MAJESTY, with Third Factory Films.
