The Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA) represents more than 230 companies ranging from turbine manufacturers and energy companies to component suppliers, engineering consultancy firms, service, transport, logistics etc.

The association was founded in 1981. DWIA today represents 99.9 per cent of Danish wind turbine manufacturing measured in MW and more than 230 companies with activities in the Danish wind industry.

Today the Danish wind industry accounts for more than 7 pct. of the total annual exports in Denmark.

The members of DWIA have a leading position on the world market and about every third wind turbine sold worldwide is manufactured by the Danish wind industry. Wind power is the fastest growing energy form in Denmark today and will prior to 2012 supply 30 % of electricity consumption.
