Year 2011 is FIS World Cup Ruka Nordic Opening’s anniversary. It’s the tenth time that the World Cup opening once again fi lls the Ruka Ski Stadium with athletes from all around the
world. Circa 400 competitors are participating in the Nordic Opening competitions, and also a great number of coaches and other team staff are expected to the races.
The number of media representatives attending the event during the weekend reaches 400. This makes Nordic Opening the biggest annual sports event in Finland as measured by the number
of media accredited. During the weekend, the organizing committee employs over 500 voluntary workers whose efforts are essential in making Nordic Opening an unforgettable event once again.
