As a marine life artist, I have dedicated my life to raising awareness about issues facing our world's waters. I began painting life-size murals of whales and other marine life over 25 years ago to inspire people to protect and preserve our ocean. 99 "Whaling Walls" later, my mission has expanded to educate people around the planet about the need to conserve all water resources and habitats. I realized that you can't save one body of water without thinking about the next - you can't save the ocean without protecting our lakes, rivers, estuaries, and wetlands. I started the Wyland Foundation in 1993 to encourage environmental awareness through public art, classroom education, and community events. By sharing our knowledge of the need of clean water and the interconnectedness of the world's waterways, we can have a lasting global impact.
