Born in Mexico in 1977, as a child he lived several years in the United States while his parents studied at Oregon State University.
Yordi studied film at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico) obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Arts and a Master's Degree in Cinema Studies.
As director he has made several award winning films that combine socially conscience themes with precise cinematic technique and well structured narrative.
His short film Firmes has won several awards including Best Mexican Short Film from the Guanajuato International Film Festival, Official Selection at the Morelia International Film Festival and Official Selection at the Habana International Film Festival.
Besides directing, Yordi has specialized in editing as well as postproduction having been invited to postproduce several films including three feature films and several short films. As postproducer he has worked with 16mm, 35mm, HD, REDCAM as well as projects which have required many special effect shots.
In 2008 he is among ten students selected for a month long course in postproduction sponsored by UNIÓN LATINA and the CCC (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica).
He currently teaches postproduction at two universities while working on several film projects.
