Žilda who is of Slovak origin was born in Lorient, France. He learnt painting, drawing and engraving as a self-taught man. In 2008, he gave up canvas and chose to express himself on the very walls of the cities. He has always worked out of the conventional paths of street art – galleries and festivals. In 2010 his project « Fragiles Fabulae » met an international public. He was inspired by almost forgotten paintings when he revisited and contextualized stories from all sorts of mythologies on the walls of European metropolises – Paris, Naples, Lisbon, Belgrade. In his work, whether pictorial or photographic, Žilda invariably includes elements of ‘mise-en-scène’ and objects of contemporary daily life.
