The name of the Ensemble is a tribute to the composer and inventor Peter Zinovieff. Not only he developed the famous VCS3 synthesizer in the late 1960's but is also responsible for one of the first concerts played by a computer without a human intervention (»Partita for unattended computer« Queen Elizabeth Hall London – 1968). Based on the idea of self-controlling music machines Sebastian Drichelt and Konrad Behr present sounds generated by prepared modular computer programs. Dealing with the question “How does coincidence does sounds like?” computers of the artists get into the position, to “decide” about shape, quality and length of all sounds theirselves.
