Pastor Bey was as born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on November 19, 1953. He was baptized, instructed and confirmed at Our Savior's Ev. Lutheran Church. A 1971 graduate of Northwestern Lutheran Preparatory School, he attended the University of Wisconsin in Wausau, Bethany Lutheran College in Mankota, Minnesota, and Northwestern College in Watertown. He interrupted his college education to serve four years in the United States Army Security Agency from 1974 - 1978.

After his tour of duty he returned to Bethany to complete his undergraduate studies. He then attended our Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, and graduated in 1984 receiving the degree of Master of Divinity. After being ordained he continued his education on a part-time basis at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and received the degree of Master of Sacred Theology in 1995.

The first congregation at which he served from 1984 - 1989 was St. Matthew in Winona Minnesota. He then accepted the call as a missionary to Indonesia serving there in 1990 and 1991. Pastor Bey next became the pastor at St. John, Newburg, Wisconsin, serving there from 1992 - 1996. He was one of our synod's missionaries in Bulgaria where he served as the Field Coordinator from 1996 - 2001. During his last two years in Bulgaria he also functioned as a visiting missionary to Albania. He has served as pastor at Zion since 2001.

Pastor Bey is married. His wife, Connie, is a graduate of Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota and has been an active participant in both his overseas and North American ministries. Mrs. Bey is both our High School's secretary and Art teacher. The Beys are blessed with 3 daughters: Sena, Emily and Grace.
