This is how our Ice9 SLS printer creates 3D objects from nylon and polyamide powder.
As for any other 3D print system, the laser sintering process is based on layers. In our case, every layer is made of extremely fine plastic (or metal) powder that gets uniformly distributed on the working area. Then, the laser melts the small particles of our construction material, creating the sections of the object.
And as the number of sections grows, our prototype comes to life, hidden in his powder "melting pot".
When the print is done, you only have to clean out the object from the residual/not used powder (that you can use for your next print!), and here you have your functional prototype!
