This is a custom song written for Craig Gonzales, who planned to propose to his girlfriend, Gillian Rollason. He wanted something unique to them both, so I wrote this song that is woven with stories about their lives and their relationship.

The short version of the story is: He's from Texas, she's from England, they met in Bangkok, and they're two of the coolest people in the world. The song turned into "Union Jack."

Lyrics:

We set out for answers on a crooked track
Kicking up dust with strangers
Flying stranger flags

Nothing but schemes and riddles tied to our back
Through cities overrun with monkeys
Countries run by fools
But I look in your eyes, and they shine back like jewels

A train is only as good as its train track
And a track is only as strong as a strong back
And my back is only covered by the true heart of a lover
And my lover leads me home to the union jack

Bangkok beauties were hanging around where the train line ends
When I told you that I wanted you near me
If you could even hear me

Heavy wheels were turning, and I needed a friend
You were strung out on Thai whiskey
I was drunk on English wine
If I seemed brave, I had dragons on my mind

Because a train is only as good as its train track
And a track is only as strong as a strong back
And my back is only covered by the true heart of a lover
And my lover leads me home to the union jack

Never thought I’d know love, ‘til I knew you
Or make a promise like this until you
Just one question left: honey, will you?
Oh, honey, say yes

A train is only as good as its train track
And a track is only as strong as a strong back
And my back is only covered by the true heart of a lover
And my lover leads me home to the union jack
Yes, my lover leads me home to the union jack
