Garrick Webster has invited me to create a piece for a beautiful book called 'Memories'.
Cancer is such a pervasive killer these days, that few of us go through life untouched by the disease. So Garrick and his bunch of merry writers decided to do something about it by launching the 'Memories' project. The outcome will be a beautiful art book where powerful and touching stories will be accompanied by visual responses from artists and designers alike.
Simply jumping on my mac to create something felt wrong. The prose that this piece will accompany is so emotional that I felt compelled to create something that exposed me too.
I don't consider myself good at drawing, or painting. But I wanted to hand-craft something with many layers to symbolise the degradation of the cancer victims character, likes and dislikes.
