Installed in UCLA's New Wight Glalery, this kinetic light piece is made using the Opus 5 plasma light magic lantern, fitted with an automated disk that runs quietly in the gallery. A triangle gate and coloured filter in the magic lantern are used -- the projection is "mapped" to a "Triangle Screen" made of painted wood and wool felt. (The triangle screen is made for the nomadic artist and can be taken down easily and put up in a new location.) On the floor of the gallery in front of the triangle screen, a 10 ft. watercolour, "Open Space for the Guest," becomes part of the assembled/ collaged forms. 2014.
