In 2010, Dr. Graeme Shaw MD, San Jose Integrative Medicine specialist, was asked in this video interview "What are some of the lifestyle approaches you would use to best support your platelets if you were concerned with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura?"
Dr. Shaw's reply: "To best support a healthy platelet count if I were concerned with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura, I would do the following: Healthy Diet low in junk food, processed food, chemical food additives, unclean water, etc. Stress reducing activities like yoga, meditation, tai chi, breathing exercises, moderate exercise, adequate sleep, massage, detoxification, etc. To supplement my diet, I would take adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals as well as high quality herbal supplements that support my bone marrow function and healthy platelets."
