Louise Phelan calls for successful conclusion of EU-US trade deal talks
President Michael D. Higgins was today guest of honour at the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland annual Independence Day Lunch. Attended by nearly 400 people, the event is one of the biggest 4th of July celebrations held in Ireland each year and honours the close relationship between Ireland and the United States.
Speaking at the lunch Louise Phelan, President of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, called for a successful conclusion to the EU-US trade deal stating that while Ireland's economy was continuing to strengthen, a sustained recovery was still critically dependent on growth in global trade and investment.
