I returned from Peru shortly before the exhibition. It was my first time in Peru and I was blown away by the Andes. But I was even more impressed by the Amazon jungle and its sounds.

For many years, the book ‘Baubo, la vulve mythique’ by Georges Devereux has been a source of inspiration.
"Baubô était la servante de Déméter. Celle-ci ne se consolait pas du deuil de sa fille Perséphone. Elle n'avait plus goût à rien. Un jour, Baubô se plaça devant sa maîtresse, souleva ses jupes et exhiba sa propre vulve. Déméter se mit à rire, sortit de sa dépression, récupéra désir et envie de vivre."

‘Baubo was Demeter's servant. She was not consoled by the bereavement of her daughter Persephone. She had no taste for anything. One day, Baubô stood in front of her mistress, lifted her skirts and exposed her own vulva. Demeter began to laugh, came out of her depression and recovered her desire and zest for life.’
