A short film showing the construction of our new garden in time-lapse. Eight days of work compressed into three minutes!
Shot entirely on a Go Pro Hero 3 in 4000 x 3000 pixel 'wide' mode. Edited in Final Cut Pro X.1.2.
Approximately 30000 still frames were photographed over the eight days. The Go Pro was set to shoot one frame every two seconds. In editing this proved too slow so the speed was increased by 2x or sometimes 4x.
QuickTime Player 7 Pro was used to convert the still images into 4K ProRes QuickTime movies (a folder of stills for each day). These movies were imported into FCPX on a 1080p timeline. This allowed 'camera moves' to be done within FCPX without loss of quality. The moves were done with the 'Quick and Easy Ken Burns' plugin from Final Cut Pro Effects. Com (fcpeffects.com).
