The Future of the Universe / Mae Dyfodol y Bydysawd (2022)

Megan Arnold (Canada) and Penny Hallas (Wales) created this video as part of an experimental digital project commissioned by Elysium Gallery, Swansea, Wales in partnership with the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation, Ontario, Canada. The commission invited artists with polar-opposite approaches to their art practices to break through geographical, artistic, personal and social constraints in creative exploration of cross-Atlantic relationships to history, power, and people.

In the karaoke-inspired video we question the nature of freedom and subvert ideas of predestined boundaries and futures on a personal, societal, and galactic level.

Shown as part of Elysium's contribution to the Improvisation Festival 2022, hosted by the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation, Canada.
