New San Francisco Voice (NSFV) - Episodes 1 to 3
Crated by Mat Van Rhoon - matvanrhoon.com
During the successful 'Project Fedora' KickStarter campaign to raise money for the production of a new Tex Murphy game (‘Tesla Effect’) I created a series of fabricated news episodes titled ‘New San Francisco Voice’ (NSFV). These were designed to bring attention to the campaign as well as educate newcomers about the stories that featured in the previous Tex Murphy titles. The videos were created on an extremely small budget, and shot over one week. My role in the project was writer (but I also collaborated with Tex Murphy series writer Aaron Conners), director, editor and visual effects artist.
The videos were extremely well received, and many regarded them as one of the primary factors that contributed to the success of the KickStarter campaign, as their high quality production values proved to be an excellent example of the quality the game will be capable of delivering should it successfully reach its funding goal.
As a result of this feedback, and the success of the campaign, I was hired onto the Big Finish Games team to be Visual Effects Supervisor and Lead VFX Artist for the game itself.
Notes: Additional 3D elements featured in this video were created by a very talented 3D artist and friend of mine; Bjørn Ottesen.
