The Fujianese Seaweed farmers of Southern China
I filmed this sequence in early June 2014. I directed and shot the segment with help from a local drone crew for National Geographic series, China from Above. The type of seaweed they are farming is called Saccharina japonica or more commonly called Laminaria or just plain old kelp or seaweed. It tastes delicious and the Chinese eat it predominantly in soups.
