This was a college project that won me the award of 'Most Creative Project' in Plymouth College of Art for two years running and a scholarship of £6000.
The film was based on the life of a heroine addict, how her life was and how it could have been. I wanted to show two narratives on one screen. With the use of projection mapping, each narrative showed the life of the same woman. One as her life really was, an addict / prostitute and the other as a mother living a ‘normal’ life. The action in each shot was be the same for both narratives but what they were doing is different. For example on one side she’s cooking heroin the other she’s cooking for children. To enable me to achieve the task of showing both narratives at once on a single screen I came up with a design that uses an accordion fold. Depending on where you stand, this will determine what narrative you will see. The sound for the film was in the form of a poem that incorporated both films.
