The Foulcault Pendulum is a project by Dimitar Nikolov, Paulo Vinhas and Nuno Belmonte, at the Game Design module from the Communication Design and New Media/Fbaul master course.
“Pêndulo do Foucault” is a game that challenges the reflexes and the speed of response of the player, as well as his capacity to observe the movement of the pendulum in every specific course it takes.
Presented in a clear graphic style, the game echoes the clarity of the Pendulum itself as an object in the Museum of Science of University of Lisbon giving sufficient information to the player on how it works, trough a recreational character that is meant to enrich the object even more.
It’s a challenge of skills with an interactive puzzle. Through the rotation of board the player has to reach the solution, for the shortest time possible. Using the simulation of the pendulum angular rotation the player mission is to move successfully every color peg in its correspondent color mark before the time level runs out. As higher level he plays the shortest is the time available, and the amount of the pendulum angular rotation and quantity of the color pegs increases proportionally.
