Birmingham Royal Ballet's Department for Learning is reaching out to young people in the city to provide them with access to ballet, dance and performing arts. One of the ways it does this is by recruiting a team of Young Ambasssadors to spread the word on Birmingham Royal Ballet's behalf. The role of an Ambassador is one of prestige and responsibility - to represent Birmingham Royal Ballet and bring it to a wider audience that would not usually engage with ballet. One of the ways they go about this is by teaming up with Birmingham Youth Service to put on performances. These performances are partly to encourage involvement - both on and off stage - with young people, and partly to recruit new Ambassadors to the team. This documentary tracks the journey of one particular group of Ambassadors as they stage a production based on David Bintley's Still Life Future Lives. The Ambassadors talk about what it takes to put on a performance, and what they gain from their involvement with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. From Shuut's point of view, it was a hugely rewarding project to be involved with, as it was clear from the outset just how much the Ambassadors and the participant gained from working on the project. It was hugely rewarding to bring this across through the documentary.
