Every few months I get to be magically transported to what seems like a fairy tale land by visiting Manitoulin island. It's landscape makes you feel like you've stumbled into Narnia or at least some beautiful gem on the English country side. Although it's sort of in the middle of Ontario it has a completely different look from the rest of the province. It's covered in strange trees, riddled with very old looking worn down fences and barns, and has a different set of animals and birds then the rest of the province. It's treasure is even sort of guarded by an old swing bridge that provides the single point of entry to the island other than boats.
This spot in particular, Ten Mile Point, is somewhere I pass by every time I visit and each time I see it I feel as though it's beauty is beyond what I thought reality could contain.
