Joint Intellect

Joint Intellect is an interactive work commissioned by Feihe (飞鹤) for its pop-up event popularizing scientific knowledge of brain growth at Aranya in Beidaihe. The work is visually inspired by the neural network structure. Delaunay triangulation (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delaunay_triangulation) is used to plan the potential connecting paths between all the white dots that represent the brain cells. Kwok programs the generative system to make the tree-like neuron grow and spread out across the triangular network, visualizing the brain development through a digital aesthetic way of expression.

The Audience are also invited to interact with the installation. Every touch on the neuron would generate a signal, paired with a music note, which passes onto its neighboring neurons, creating a chain reaction.

Joint Intellect is created and programmed using Processing / Java (processing.org).
