123 km of rugged Norwegian terrain layed ahead the 117 participants of Salomon Xreid Hardangervidda 2014. Five checkpoints would need to be navigated along a route across a vast mountain plateau and up to the summit of 1,883m Mount Gaustatoppen to the finish line. After dark and in treacherous weather conditions, with just GPS and a headtorch to guide them, only 88 of the 117 would make it that far.
