In the end of the film, Redlip is finally employed by the State/Government himself (played by Bo Swedberg) to lead the project "Dancers of the State". For these scenes I borrowed the legendary sharply yellow rainwear that Rubicon, the originators of the Gothenburg postmodern dance scene (Eva Ingemarsson, Gun Lund, Gunilla Witt) wore in their wonderful non-institutional artistic project Dancers of the City.
The film tells, with humour and warmth, in words and in movement, the absurd tale of the dancer. It is a fabulous story about Redlip and her dance group Redlipsong, starting at the unemployment bureau, ending with the honorary mission ”Dancers of the State”. An alternative to the ballerina-myth.
