Skalar has a modern and flexible SP2000 robot platform available for handling small and large batches of soil samples. The Robotic Analyzer can be confi gured for measurement of soil-pH in water extracts as well as in KCl, CaCl2 or other extracts. The procedure includes automatic calibration of the probe, addition of extraction solution, automatic stirring, pre-defined sample settling times and pH measurement. The instrument can have a capacity of 32 up to 792 containers, based on 50 ml vials. Also customized racks and vials can be implemented. The analyzer can be configured with multiple probes (up to 8 probes) to increase the throughput by parallel measurement. For extremely large batches the analyzer can be equipped with two robotic arms each with multiple pH electrode configurations to increase sample throughput.
In addition to pH analysis, also parameters such as conductivity (EC) can be added to the soil-pH configuration. If EC measurement is added to the analysis, this can be accomplished by either a combined electrode for pH/EC or a separate probe for pH and EC.
