We are founded by Gold Star Mother, Dr. Roxann Abrams. "I lost my son, SFC Randy Abrams, to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) suicide in 2009, after he returned home from his 3rd tour in Iraq. When he set foot on American soil, I breathed a sigh of relief because I thought he was safe. I was wrong."
"Out of my intense grief I founded Operation:I.V.,Inc.," a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in honor and memory of Randy to help his brothers and sisters also suffering with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Our name means an "infusion of help” for our Iraq & Afghanistan Combat Veterans.
We have formed a Celebrity & Corporate Public Relations Team (CPR Team.) This team pumps life giving treatment into our Nations Heroes. We are asking you for your support. We would be honored to work with your business in the fight to save the very lives of those who protected our freedom. Your partnership with Operation:I.V. can make a real immediate impact in the lives of our Combat Veterans. Your tax deductible donations give our Nation’s Heroes the life saving treatment they so desperately need. After all, they are defending the very values and freedoms that define us all as Americans.
Operation:I.V. fills the gap for our Veterans with a specialized treatment program that is the only one if its kind, Veteran Intervention Plan (VIP). The first prong of our comprehensive program is PTSD Service Dogs. These specially trained dogs detect when a soldier is having an anxiety escalation (that so often leads to their suicides) and interrupts it. These dogs save our Combat Veterans lives! Most of our trained service dogs are former shelter dogs that would otherwise be put down. With Operation: I.V., Inc both the dogs and our Combat Veterans are given a second chance. I know that if my son Randy had a PTSD Service dog, he would still be alive today.
The recently exposed VA shortfalls highlight the need for private care for our Combat Veterans. I am determined to help our Combat Veterans get the help they so desperately need. As reported by the Department of Defense, the current suicide rate among Combat Veterans is 22 Veterans every day! This must not be allowed to continue and there IS a solution: Veteran Intervention Plan (VIP) through Operation:I.V., Inc. Please join us in the fight for our Combat Veterans lives!
