rFpro - a lap of the F1 Grand Prix circuit. This is the model being used for simulation and testing in F1 ahead of each Grand prix event. Testing in simulation continues through the weekend as changes to the car and setup are evaluated back at the factories by test drivers in support of the race team.
Beneath the graphical model is a digital road surface that maps the entire drivable surface along and across the road, kerbs and run-offs to a 1cm grid. At every grid point the height of the road surface is stored to 1mm accuracy. This surface is fed in real time, usually between 1kHz and 4kHz to the teams' tyre models and vehicle models, so that the ground inputs to their simulation are accurate.
