"You could one day find yourself, I could one day find myself, so broken with no one else to turn to that you end up living on the streets," says Ukiah Hawkins, long time volunteer at Bridgetown Inc's Night Strike. Being homeless comes with many derogatory associations. For Jimm Hitt, a man who faced a challenging three months of loss, emotional stress, self medication, martial turmoil, and serve health issues, found himself on the streets, the homeless population are not all lazy drug addict criminals. He has found the volunteers at Night Strike are able to look past his homeless exterior and see him as a human being worthy of love and care. The motto of Bridgetown Inc. is "loving people because people matter," and that is exactly what they do.
